Training Log for May 2006

My main aim for this month will be to get the volume back up and also to start doing strongman events training much more regularly again.

Monday 2 May (Week 1 of 3): Maximum Effort Bench Press

Normal bench press (raw) 60kg x 10, 100kg x 3, 130kg x 3, 150kg x 3,
  170kg x 3, 180kg x 1, 190kg x 1, 200kg x 1,
  210kg x 0
Bench press rep sets 165kg x 8, 145kg x 8
Reverse grip 2 board bench 140kg x 10, 160kg x 8, 180kg 2 x 8
Incline band presses (band placed Green x 12, Blue 3 x 10
behind bench)  
Lying DB tricep extensions 22kg 4 x 12
Remarks Very frustrating. The 210kg feels very easy on
  the way down but I'm experiencing forearm
  pain preventing an explosive return.

Tuesday 3 May: Maximum Effort Squat

Tyre flip 260kg 1 x 5 reps, 3 x 10 reps (29 seconds on last set)
Good mornings very tight green 60kg x 3, 100kg x 3, 140kg x 3, 170kg x 3
bands 190kg x 3, 210kg x 1, 230kg x 1, 240kg x 0
  140kg x 6
Rack-unracks in power rack 180kg x 8, 225kg x 8, 270kg x 3
Remarks Band tension was very high. Looking back at
  my previous logs and considering that band
  tension was higher than ever before this comes
  very close to being a PR. The deadlifting is
  another matter, though. We'll see next week
  but it feels weak...

I suffered another setback. Just as soon as I thought that I was getting back into good form my back started acting up again. I'm having lots of difficulty with a pinched nerve at the moment and my training is erratic at best. No point in keeping a training log at the moment...
